Optum Women’s Team Accepts Invite To La Course
Solve client Optum Pro Cycling has graciously accepted an invitation to compete in the inaugural La Course by Le Tour de France, a circuit race on July 27th coinciding with the 21st and final stage of the world’s premiere cycling race. Six women will be chosen to represent Optum inside the 100-rider peloton. Running through the heart of Paris on the Champs-Élysées, the 12-lap race across the Tour de France’s beautiful final circuit will be broadcast internationally and is poised to become an iconic race on the women’s calendar.
“It is truly an honor to receive an invite to La Course,” said women’s Performance Director Kevin Field. “I think our team proved at (England’s) Women’s Tour that they can compete against the world’s top talent, and to have an opportunity to race on the Champs-Élysées in front of millions will be spectacular.” The winner of La Course will collect a prize of €22,500, the same sum awarded to Tour stage winners.
