Minnesota Gophers’ Football Coach Rises Above Seizures To Win Honor
University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill was named Big Ten Coach of the Year by both the league’s head coaches and the media. In his fourth season at Minnesota, Kill led the Gophers to an 8–4 record, and a 5–3 mark in the Big Ten. Minnesota recorded victories over Nebraska, Iowa and Northwestern, all teams picked to finish ahead of the Gophers in the Big Ten’s West Division.
Kill, who has epilepsy, is a spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota. Earlier this year, Coach and Rebecca Kill started the “Chasing Dreams” Fund to help kids with epilepsy rise above seizures to achieve their dreams.
