Solve Wins The V Foundation Cancer Research Account

Charity Founded By ESPN And Coaching Legend Jim Valvano

After a competitive review, Solve’s been hired by The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Based in Cary, North Carolina, The V Foundation was formed in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, beloved basketball coach of North Carolina State. Since 1993, the foundation has funded more than $150MM in research grants across all cancer types. Solve’s role will include helping the organization build on and expand its passionate base beyond sports fans.

“We’re honored to add The V Foundation to our roster,” said Roman Paluta, Solve Director of Business Development. “Working with an organization dedicated to curing cancer and saving lives is tremendously inspiring and motivating.” Solve will provide brand positioning and identity, target audience definition, connection strategy and messaging and implementation across all channels. The work will appear in fall, 2016.

Solve Hires Juliann Luce As Account Director

Senior Talent Brings Fashion And Retail Expertise to Agency

To bolster its experience in fashion and retail, Solve has hired Juliann Luce as Account Director. Luce’s wide-ranging experience spans client marketing, agency account management and publishing. Her past responsibilities include marketing roles at Gucci, Elle Décor and Target. On the agency side, Luce has worked at PMH on Athleta and JCPenney. Most recently, she was a Senior Manager, Marketing at Best Buy.

5-Minute On-Campus Internship Gives Recruits Real Taste Of Agency Life

To recruit summer interns, Solve created an outdoor pop-up agency modeled after its Minneapolis office and took it on the road to campuses including University of Wisconsin/Madison and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Candidates were able to show their stuff during a 5-Minute Internship in an authentic agency environment. Top performers were given an on-the-spot interview. The agency will decide on selected interns by May 1.

The “More Common Than You Think” campaign for client Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota (EFMN) uses everyday occurrences to raise awareness that seizures are more common than most people think. As America’s tax filing deadline approaches, Solve is using Tax Day to raise epilepsy awareness. Solve has developed a social media push letting people know seizures are more common than audits. According to Forbes, 1 in 100 Americans will be audited. But 1 in 10 Americans will have a seizure in their lifetime. The effort from Solve debuted this week.
